However, given that I was very young at the time I did not think of it as much more than a cartoon. Later on in my life I was exposed to other Miyazaki films and I started to appreciate his works. I read the manga version of Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, saw a portion of Howl\u2019s Moving Castle and most of Kiki\u2019s Delivery Service and many a time attempted to watch Princess Mononoke but for various reasons could never watch the whole movie in one sitting. <br \/>\n<br \/>\nFrom my experience, it would seem that Spirited Away is a Japanese version of Alice in Wonderland with some darker tones and a character that actually appears to develop (whereas I found that Alice seemed to be a rather static character). I remember incredibly beautifully striking animation and an exciting musical score along with great voice talent. The animation was considerably more detailed and fluid than any of the Saturday morning anime shows I'd watch on YTV, something I appreciated. The music was everything from haunting to serene, as expected from a movie of a dreamlike adventure. Since the genre is animated, family-adventure, I think that the main plot will focus on the main character and her adventures(whether real, or made up in her mind). I know that the director of _Spirited Away_ is Hayao Miyazaki and I've heard that it is a great film. I have some experience watching animated films, such as: _The Nightmare Before Christmas_, Disney movies and some Pixar films. They make a wrong turn and end up at an old abandoned theme park. Her parents end up eating food and are turned into pigs, and then Chihiro finds herself trapped in a spirit world. She meets a boy and together they try and get her parent\u2019s back so that they could all go home.
